I studied in St. Louis, MO - I worked a few years after school in advertising design and layout. I quit my day job in 1985 to go on tour with The Grateful Dead as a self published artist. We sold bandanas, stickers, shirts, and more in Dead parking lots in all corners of America. Jaspar Designs moved to Santa Cruz, CA in 1988 and evolved an art design and publishing company and a hand-craft tie dye company that fulfilled upwards of 700 stores with 'Jaspar Designs' tie dyes, printed shirts, decals, and more for 7 years. I moved to Visalia, CA after Jerry Garcia passed away in 1995 to be present on a daily basis in his son, Phoenix' life. He is my masterpiece. I took a haitus from my art career for a while in the late 90's but managed to find satisfying means to survive in Visalia through a variety of unanticipated careers and odd jobs. My main job during this period was becoming a better father, and a better person hopefully, for my son. In 2001, when the worst crime on U.S. soil became the least investigated, most deceitful and the most obviously covered up crime in our history, and the pervasive 'shadow government' began occupation plans for Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan, Peacemonger.org was born. I became inspired by rage at what our country inflicts to third world nations. I am inclined to point out to as many people as possible through design/sticker products the atrocious media collaboration selling out our national good will, keeping good people misinformed and inflamed to support the horrific terrorism our military practices on a daily basis in numerous sovereign nations, (some things never change.) Peacemonger grew from nothing, fueled mainly by our interfaith word and SymbolGlyphic Design creations. Phoenix has grown into a young man far beyond his years in maturity and has made his mark with taking on the heart and soul of Peacemonger.org - He facilitates much of the bookkeeping, management, and some design work too. It's my pride and joy to be working currently as a true family business. As always, Music, Peace, Nature, the Human condition and iconic symbolism are main sources of inspiration for my designs. We are becoming a design/art collaborative team at Peacemonger.org and we welcome all artists to work with us to create new buttons, stickers, shirts, posters, cards, coloring books, mugs, flags, tapestries, jewelry, stained glass, sculpture, pottery, photography, music, films, and anything else artistically creative and peaceful if not consciousness raising in it's essence.
